Murdeshwar - the land of temple, waves and more
Murdeshwar is a town located in west of Karnataka, the town lies cost of the Arabian sea. This place is famous for its statue of lord Shiva, its worlds second tallest Shiva statue and its also famous for Murdeshwar temple. It constantly remains as one my favorite beaches.
This time I'm visiting this place with my family. Its a long drive from my home, it took approximately 11 hr to reach there. We will never get bored ,as there is so much to see on the way. While on a road-trip it makes the journey more joyful, the destination is secondary. They are really wonderful as it is great time to spend with your family, travel on budget and more unexpected moments.
The huge statue of Lord Shiva can be seen from a long distance. This convince that we are about to reach the destination. After a while we reached the there. It was a warm afternoon and a little crowded at that time. All of them were eagerly waiting for the beautiful sunset.
While talking about Murdeshwar, it is the most popular beach as it attracts so many tourists. The sea water was so crystal clear and the color of the sea was blue. I think it is one of the underrated beaches as it provide experience of underwater world and water sports. There are so many other activities in the sea like jet skiing, boating and paragliding so on. The statue of lord Shiva is situated on a small hill that is covered by 3 sides of water. Standing at a height of about 124 meter. Its built in a way that it shines brightly as sunlight touches the statue. And a tower called Raja Gopura gives a great birds eye view of the entire coastal town. It is a massive 18 storeyed temple tower with ancient architecture and paintings. If were are not in a mood to conquer it , don't worry there is a lift. And there is a restaurant situated in the sea, that was build to look like a ship.It was also surrounded by water. After having the food we were waiting for the sunset. As the sun dipped down to the horizon , the whole area turns red. I experienced the best sunset in my life.
After some purchases from there , we started our journey back to our home.
